To whichever co-worker of mine who brought their pet to work… I think something is wrong with your dog!
Coming through the door at the radio station this morning I was greeted by this fella. I can tell you, he wasn’t here when I left yesterday. So you can imagine my surprise! LOL!
Happy Halloween! A big thanks to all the listeners that texted the BEACH Line yesterday – Powered by McDonalds – with Halloween safety tips. Have a look for some great ways to make sure all the little ones have a safe time trick-or-treating tonight. A reminder that our local High School Students will be busy “Scaring Hunger” for the food bank, asking for non perishable food items rather than candy when they come to your door today. Watch for them out and about today between 5 and 7pm.
- Stick together! – Small Children should be accompanied by an adult, older kids should not go out alone.
- Be Seen! – Wear clothing that can easily be seen at night. Retro-reflective materials are best.
- Stay in well-known areas and don’t wander into unknown neighborhoods. It’s easy to get lost when things don’t look familiar.
- All candy should be inspected by an adult to make sure that no one has tampered with it. *Plus this is the perfect time to enact “Dad-Tax”
- Children should avoid stray animals. With doors opening and closing a lot some pets might be on the loose, and all those costumes and decorations might be just as scary to them as they are to us
- “Can you see out of that thing?” – Children should wear masks that do not interfere with vision, or avoid masks by wearing makeup.
- Keep your head on a swivel – Children should watch for moving vehicles when crossing streets. Motorists should watch for children who may not be paying attention.
- Check the Length – Costumes should be short enough that the child will not trip. Last thing you want to see is your little one with a split chin or broken tooth.
